Satellite Ground Stations used to be big and expensive but the times they are a changing. Now you can have one the size of a box of matches! Just look at the TinyGS. $28 gets you a processor, with WiFi, a 70cm RF module and its own display. Setup was relatively easy.
I bought the following module from AliExpress.
LILYGO® Paxcounter LoRa V2.1_1.6.1 ESP32 433/868/915MHZ 0.96 Inch OLED SD Card Bluetooth WIFI Module. Make sure that you select the correct frequency (433MHZ) as it comes in three frequency ranges.
