Paul Kelly wrote 'From little things Big things grow' to celebrate the beginnings of the Indigenous Land Rights movement. It's center for a time was Wave Hill in the NT. A monument still stands in the remote community of Daguragu.  Inscribed with these words:-

At this site on 16^th August 1975 Mr Vincent Lingiari leader of the Gurindji people received from the Prime Minister of Australia the Honourable E. G. Whitlam, Q.C.,M.P. and the Minister for Aboriginal Affairs the Honourable Les Johnson, M.P. the pastoral lease 10 1250 square miles formerly part of the Wave Hill Pastoral Lease.

Vincent Lingiari  stated, 'now we can all be mates together'.

There is still some way to go, in fact you could argue that not much has changed.
